Design Objective: Re-design some of the aerodynamics parts of a student-built, open-wheel race car.
Role
• Re-design and assemble the firewall, floor, accumulator, and top panels with the drawings of each part on Solidworks.
• Assisted in designing the car on Star CCM+ for CFD computation.
• Assisted in designing the car on Star CCM+ for CFD computation.
Project Requirements
• Constrain aerodynamics package according to the Formula SAE rules.
• Develop lightweight parts that bring aerodynamic stability to the car.
• Develop an assembly system and design special rivets to keep the panels placed securely on the car’s chassis.

Results
• Reduced drag by 20%
• The only school with both their combustion and electric cars to compete and pass the endurance test.
